Born on 15 April 1861, at Eden Valley, SA; died on 18 Oct 1925, at Crystal Brook, SA, age: 64.
His father was Martin Eckert, his mother was Elisabeth (née Thiem)
He was a school teacher.
He taught in Lutheran schools in the Wimmera district including schools at Kirchheim and Murtoa Vic until 1913, then was a temporary teacher in the Victorian Education Department in Gippsland.
He resigned 1914, and moved back to SA, where he taught in Lutheran school near Riverton.
He is also listed as being an artist.
